Arcadia High School is like a second home for me. Immediately upon entering the school as a freshman, I felt so welcomed and involved with the help of thoughtful and enthusiastic leaders who informed us of the school's basics, breaking down its structure and answering any of our concerns. Despite the new freshmen students from different middle schools, I felt like I belonged because everyone was extremely kind and surprisingly easy to get along with. I became friends with many of my classmates in an incredibly short time, and I'm very grateful to be surrounded by so many open-minded and compassionate individuals. The worst part of my experience had been the new workload, which often overwhelmed me. The shift from middle to high school was tremendous, especially with the high work expectations. A change I would like to see is more vigorous courses and expectations in middle school so that adapting to high school would be easier.

Arcadia is a really great school to attend! While it is a tough school with a lot of competition, it does keep students motivated. However, with certain social groups being tightly knit because they've known each other since forever, it can get intimidating.

Your grades will be very dependent on the teachers you get. A smart student at this school may struggle with a difficult teacher, while someone who puts no effort into school may do better in a subject just because they have an easier teacher. The math and English departments are the most out of tune with each other. Some english teacher are extremely difficult and assign a lot of reading, while some of the english teachers do not even give tests. Same goes with math, many of the teachers are extremely difficult and don't explain well while some of the teachers go through the chapters very slowly and have easy tests.
